Andrew Brandt on MLB Salary Cap Fight as World Series Begins

Andrew Brandt says the Brewers and Rays reaching the World Series—despite ranking 19th and 26th in payroll, respectively—shows how strong management, scouting and player development can compete with high spending. He calls the matchup evidence for the players’ union that success is possible without a salary cap, while cautioning that owners may dismiss it as an unsustainable exception: smaller-market teams have little margin for error and can lose players to wealthier clubs in free agency. He speaks with Romaine Bostick on "The Close." (Source: Bloomberg)
