<![CDATA[ <article> <ul><li><strong>FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki says, "there was never really any big plan" to release </strong><em><strong>Elden Ring: Nightreign</strong></em><strong> and </strong><em><strong>The Duskbloods</strong></em><strong> back-to-back</strong></li><li><strong>Miyazaki still has "a heavy focus on single-player content"</strong></li><li><strong>He suggests the studio will return to making single-player games after </strong><em><strong>The Duskbloods</strong></em><strong> arrives</strong></li></ul><p>FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki has suggested the studio could return to making single-player games after <a href="https://www.techradar.com/gaming/elden-ring-nightreign-review"><em>Elden Ring: Nightreign</em></a> and <a href="https://www.techradar.com/gaming/nintendo-switch-2-exclusive-the-duskbloods-was-originally-meant-to-be-switch-game-but-then-fromsoftware-was-approached-by-nintendo-with-talk-of-switch-2"><em>The Duskbloods</em></a>.</p><p>Many fans were surprised when FromSoftware announced its PvPvE action game, <em>The Duskbloods,</em> so soon after releasing its multiplayer, roguelike <a href="https://www.techradar.com/reviews/elden-ring"><em>Elden Ring</em></a> spin-off, <em>Nightreign</em>.</p><p>However, according to game director Miyazaki, who also helmed <em>Elden Ring</em>, <em>Bloodborne</em>, and <em>Dark Souls</em>, releasing two multiplayer games back-to-back wasn't intentional.</p><p>"It's funny because there was never really any big plan that these two games would both release next to each other," Miyazaki told <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/hidetaka-miyazaki-interview-fromsoftware-duskbloods-dark-souls-future-nintendo" target="_blank">IGN</a>, explaining that since <em>Nightreign</em> was led by a different director, Junya Ishizaki, both ideas "just coincided with being multiplayer games."</p><p>"It's not necessarily some big reveal saying that this is the direction we plan to go moving forward," Miyazaki continued. "We still have a heavy focus on single-player content as well. This is just something that happened to work out the way it did."</p><p>The director then suggested the studio could dive back into making single-player games after <em>The Duskbloods</em> arrives, saying: "But it's like, the more you work on something multiplayer for a long time, if anything, it scratches that itch only to want to make something single-player again."</p><p>The studio's last single-player experience was <em>Elden Ring</em>, which launched in 2022, followed by the multiplayer spin-off, <em>Nighreign</em>, in 2025. </p><p>Next up for FromSoftware is <em>The Duskbloods</em>, which was announced last year as a PvPvE and Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. <a href="https://www.techradar.com/gaming/the-duskbloods-network-test-has-finally-revealed-a-few-new-details-about-fromsoftwares-upcoming-switch-2-game-including-multiplayer-matches-with-up-to-eight-players">Network tests</a> are underway, but a release date hasn't been set.</p> </article> ]]>
